ADVERTISING FEE

Every V’s Barbershop contributes 3% of gross sales to a national advertising fund, an investment that puts real marketing power behind the brand.

This fee funds professionally designed, ready-to-launch campaigns across social media, email, in-store signage, print, and digital platforms, all regularly refreshed and optimized to bring patrons through your door.

Local advertising plays a vital role in our growth strategy. We partner with you to ensure your marketing strategy is tailored to your community.

In select cases, we may reduce the required marketing contribution from 3% to 1%, allowing you to reinvest the remaining 2% directly into your local market. To qualify, you'll need to demonstrate that your local advertising strategy is targeted, effective, and aligned with the goal of driving traffic to your shop.

INITIAL INVESTMENT

The total cost of a V’s Barbershop ranges from $326,500 to $602,450. This includes a $40,000 franchise fee ($36,000 for each subsequent unit or if you have been honorably discharged from the US Armed Forces), the cost to build, equip and stock your store and operating capital for the first 3 months. For pricing on multiple units and for the latest facts and figures please review the Franchise Disclosure Document.

Men’s Grooming Industry Facts

A GROWING MARKET SEGMENT

In an age of automation, AI, and rapid technological shifts, barbering is standing strong. In fact, it's booming. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects faster-than-average job growth for barbers¹, and in 2024 alone, barbershop revenue grew at a compound annual growth rate of 2.7%².

ROBUST EMPLOYMENT GROWTH

Employment for barbers, hairstylists, and cosmetologists is projected to increase by 11% between 2021 and 2031, outpacing the 5% average growth for all U.S. occupations¹. The pool of licensed talent in the workforce is growing every day.

OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH END SHOPS

The current market is saturated with low-cost, convenience-focused grooming options. But KIM (Key Industry Metrics) data shows rising demand for high-quality grooming services, measured by increased average service ticket sizes and a higher number of premium add-on services at barbershops³.

BARBERS CAN’T BE AUTOMATED

Hair keeps growing—and no app or AI can give a straight-razor shave. Barbering remains a hands-on craft rooted in real skill, tradition, and trust. While other industries chase automation, barbershops thrive on something irreplaceable: human interaction.¹

44% OF MEN GO TO A BARBERSHOP

Compared to 32% who attend a salon.  The remainder visit either a friend or relative or cut their own hair. This lends favorability to a barbershop model over a salon model for all men’s demographics⁴.

THE PATRON'S EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Male clients report that the most important factor when choosing a barbershop is the experience⁴. Cost, convenience, cleanliness and perceived value all play a large role, and services from a specific barber is secondary to the overall experience⁴.

MEN ARE CREATURES OF HABIT

Most men report loyalty to their current barbershop for an average of 6.2 years. This may initially be perceived as hard work to build clientele, but over time with consistency and A+ experiences, barbershops have high earning potential related to this loyalty⁴.

GROOMING GEARED TOWARDS MEN WORKS

The men’s grooming market is having an impact on the broader economy. Men are finally noticing a niche market and are happy to discover an experience geared specifically towards their needs. With a male clients’ spending potential, most have found it a pleasure, rather than a chore, to be properly groomed and look good.
